The Team Challenge is designed to provide families, businesses, hospitals, organizations, and other groups the opportunity to be involved in raising awareness for organ and tissue donation, as well as to support those individuals from their communities who are touched by donation and transplantation.
The 5K Team Challenge is a discounted rate at $20 per participant (rates increase after July 1). Individuals participating in the Family Fun Walk or Kids/Mascot can still be on a team but will not receive a discounted rate.
The person who chooses to be the Team Captain must create the team during his/her individual registration. The person who chooses to be the Team Captain will receive communications from Lifeline of Ohio and is nominating themselves to coordinate registration enrollment and packet pick up. A team must have at least 5 members to be considered a part of the Team Challenge and receive the discounted registration rate.
There is no ‘official’ deadline for Team Challenge registration. However, the deadline for the Team Captain to decide whether he or she wants to have their team packets pre-assembled for group pick up will be Thursday, June 27. Any individual that joins the team after this date will still receive the discounted rate and have the ability to join the team but they will be responsible for picking up their own team packets. If a team does not wish to have their team pre-assembled for group pick up then each individual on the team will be responsible for picking up their own race packets. This also means that even though you are on a team you will not be guaranteed a race shirt and they will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
On race day, Lifeline of Ohio staff will have photographers available to take pictures of each of the teams (weather permitting) in a designated area beginning at 7:30 a.m. Although we encourage everyone connected to donation to wear green, participants are welcome to wear t-shirts representing their team. The location(s) of these pictures will be communicated to Team Captains prior to race day.
